Shanghai City is exciting! Shanghai City is fascinating! Shanghai City is wonderful ! Shanghai City is enjoyed by the people of China. Shanghai City buildings in the older parts show the legacy of European architecture. Shanghai City was the eastern gateway seaport to China. Shanghai City airport now has increasing air traffic not only for tourists but for business and commercial freight as air travel has become faster and more economical.

Many years ago it was partitioned by foreign countries, including the Americans, British and French, but now it has developed rapidly into a major centre for tourists and business men. It is enjoyed by the Chinese people themselves and the local Chinese students will welcome the opportunity of practising their English with you for social reasons and to enhance their career prospects. One of the best places to meet them is on the famous Bund, along the Huangpo River. The Peace Hotel, where Noel Coward is said to have Shanghai City:Tea House at Yu Yuan Gardens. written, "Private Lives", is also situated on The Bund. The Bund is where the Chinese people and particularly courting couples meet and chat during the evenings. You can visit other attractions, away from all the hustle and bustle, for there is the Temple Of The Jade Buddha or the scenic beauty of the Yu Yuan Garden, with its changing vistas, a wonderful example of the work of Chinese landscape gardeners, and where Black Dragons top some of the walls to protect the strolling Mandarin. Perhaps the design on our Willow Pattern Plates came from here !
