Yin attends to the needs of his nephew who had decided it was time for him to eat his orange if he could seperate the segments !
Within two generations, the child of the nephew's child is unlikely to have any uncles to segment oranges, as a result of the one--child-per-family-policy now in force in the country.

Here is Yin with his extended family, but it is only when I was preparing this photo for the page that I noticed that the men are on one side and the women on the other, so I must find out whether that arrangement was by accident or design.
There are many Chinese customs which are still unknown to me after all these years of friendship !

Having said my goodbyes to Yin's family, we walked down a rutted dirt track to get back to our car and I took a grab-shot photo of this group of boys as I passed. It is not unusual to see groups of boys together as they have a much freer time in their young lives than their sisters, who are expected to help with the household chores or to care for younger children.

There was no hot sun shining at the time of this photograph, as it was taken before a drive over mountains and into the countryside to visit Yin's home. We had been to a restaurant to have lunch, being closely observed by young children standing by the open street door. During our lunch Yin's school headmaster brought some homemade steamed dumplings which his wife had prepared for us, and to tell me that I was the first Western visitor to the town, so then I knew why the children were so curious !
