The Groom, his Best Friend and attendants leave his family home to fetch his Bride from her family home. The Principals all wear red and gold insignia although it should be fairly clear as to which couple was getting married. |
Entry refused by Bride's family and friends until Groom's party pays an acceptable bride price, which is passed through the door in red envelopes, "Fun Bao" or "Lai See". The proceedure involves much bantering and bargaining between the two parties. The Chinese sign on the door means, "Double Lucky", and is always seen at Chinese Weddings.
